All programs meet once per week for 2 hours per day throughout the entire school your for 6, 12, or 18 weeks. Kids can start from as young as 6 years old.
Our Beginner programs are focused on building a strong foundation, which includes basic sewing safety and machine use. They will sew basic accessories, have an introduction to 3D printing and the use of LED lights and sewing with conductive thread.
Our Intermediate programs will advance to teaching basic pattern-making, measurements and silhouettes, and constructing simple garments. The weaving of fiber optics will be introduced, as well as designing your own unique textiles digitally.
The Advanced program will facilitate drafting, more advanced pattern-making, draping, fabric manipulation, laser cutting and 3D printing. Students will take design to the next level by being able to make their visions come to life.
Please remember at DesignLab you don’t have to worry if your “ahead” or “behind”! Regardless of your age we will evaluate your skills and make sure you’re doing the right type of projects for YOU! We even have our Couture program for kids and adults that teach very advanced techniques and do more intricate projects.
